Malta has a new rising star with one of the most powerful voices you’ve ever heard.
The Maltese schoolgirl wowed the judges and impressed Alesha Dixon so much that she pressed the golden buzzer to automatically send Giorgia into the semi-finals.
She beamed with delight as gold confetti fell from the ceiling onto the stage.
Video footage of Giorgia’s audition on the ITV primetime talent show immediately went viral on social media.
Music guru Simon Cowell told her: ‘I knew this was going to be a great day. You were amazing.’
Fellow judge Alesha Dixon added: ‘You floored me, your lyrical capability, your vocal capability, you are 10 years old.
‘This is unbelievable. You are a star. You have the best personality as well.
‘I love everything about you. Congratulations.’
Giorgia is now the youngest ever solo act to win a golden buzzer, according the Daily Mail.
Afterwards, Giorgia said: ‘I felt like I was in a dream. I was very excited and couldn’t believe it was actually happening.
‘It’s always been a dream of mine to be on Britain’s Got Talent. I just can’t believe it has come true!
‘It’s my favourite show, and I have been watching it since I can remember.
‘I also wanted to meet the judges, especially Alesha because she is my inspiration.’
Britain’s Got Talent viewers across the UK were full of praise for the Maltese schoolgirl on social media.
One posted on Instagram: ‘Her voice was amazing, so much talent for a 10-year-old.’
Another wrote: ‘So well deserved!!! Gave me goosebumps! Bless her heart.’
A third added: ‘She deserved the golden buzzer. She was so amazing I cried.’
Giorgia now joins the other Golden Buzzer acts on this season of BGT, which include an adorable school choir and a stand-up comedian.
She came third in the Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest last year.
