WATCH: Love Island 2021 Finally Drops First Trailer

Summer is officially (and thankfully) loading, and you know summer is coming when the trailer for ITV 2’s Love Island drops! You heard that right… the trailer for the seventh series of the dating show is HERE.

The trailer sees host Laure Whitmore in a red jumpsuit and a tool belt. In the end, the words ‘this is not a drill’ appear on the screen as the Love Island theme music can be heard in the background.

So no, we don’t get to see the new islanders or the villa just yet… but don’t worry, we’ll still be able to obsess over our favourite dating show this summer.

Last year’s summer edition of Love Island was cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic. Even after series 7 was confirmed for 2021, there had been concerns about whether the show would be able to film in the infamous villa in Majorca or in the UK.

However, the first look at the villa confirmed filming will take place in the familiar Spanish region! The hit dating show was revived in 2015 from the 00s, and it’s safe to say it has since become a reality TV goliath.

The last summer edition aired back in 2019, which saw Amber Gill voted the winner alongside partner Greg O’Shea, was the most-watched yet. Meanwhile, Paige Turley and Finley Tapp were crowned the winners of the first winter edition in January 2020.

The summer series is set to begin at the end of June and will run for its usual eight weeks.
