The turn of events in 2020 was surely unexpected and saddening… but this unique, 25-foot, crochet tree of hope in Kerċem, Gozo, sewn together by some gold-hearted women, is here to help us get into the Christmas spirit!
The Tree of Hope is made out of 100 handmade crochet blankets and was made as a symbol of faith and as a way to honour those who are most vulnerable.
This tree was created by a group of women, The Gozo Crafty Ladies, who have been working very hard on these lap blankets to create the Maltese Islands’ first-ever crochet Christmas tree! How cool is that?
And if that wasn’t enough, all of the blankets are set to be donated to several different causes around Malta and Gozo after Christmas. This vibrant and original tree was clearly made with nothing but love by the volunteers, and now, the Christmas tree with a difference is officially lit up!
