These extraordinary pictures show Victoria’s town hall lit up by a stunning 3D light show to celebrate the start of the Christmas season in Gozo.
The island kicked off its festive celebrations in style at the weekend with a special show in Independence Square.
Thousands flocked to the centre of Victoria to watch the Christmas lights being switched on as well as a free carol concert performed by Gozo children’s choirs.
The historic Banca Giuratale was transformed into a light and colour spectacular with a dazzling 3D display across the front of Victoria’s most iconic building.
Onlookers were left stunned on Saturday night as the landmark, which was built in 1733, was covered in colourful Christmas scenes that illuminated the night sky.
Organisers at VisitGozo.com described the show as ‘a resounding success which has nicely kicked off the Christmas season in Gozo’.
Gozo minister Justyne Caruana wrote on Facebook: ‘A spectacular kick off for Christmas in Gozo. Join us till January 6 to enjoy Gozo this Christmas.’

What else is going on in Gozo this month?
A number of festive events will be held in Gozo in the run up to Christmas Day.
A three-weekend long Christmas Market will be held in the beautiful Lord Rundle Gardens from December 6 to 22.
The gardens will be transformed into a magical experience featuring stalls from all over Gozo with different artisan Christmas products, food and other goodies on offer.
