Ever wondered what made the revolutionary millennial who she is today? At the age of just 17, Greta Thunberg has taken the world by storm; from challenging world leaders and stating “our political leaders have failed us” to speaking so openly about the world’s greatest crisis at hand, climate change.
I Am Greta, an upcoming documentary by Hulu directed by Nathan Grossman, which has already premiered at the 77th Venice Biennale, takes us through the ins and outs of Thunberg’s life and all of its obstacles.
The documentary starts with Thunberg being a regular student standing alone protesting to raise awareness about climate change in front of the Swedish parliament to her career’s apotheosis so far, her journey to the 2019 UN Climate Action Summit.
There is so much that can beat her down but this is not a battle she is planning on losing anytime soon as she states in the film, “We will not stop until we are done.”
While some say it was too heavily focused on her personally, rather than the greater cause she stands for, others argue it is a ravishing piece of work that can teach us a lot.
This documentary will definitely be listed on our ‘to watch list’, so mark your calendars for November 13th and let us know what you think!
