Haley Bugeja yesterday debuted with Sassuolo Calcio against Napoli and scored 2 out of the teams three goals, which sealed their win.
With Sassuolo currently in second position in the Female Serie A, the Maltese 16-year old impressed all those who were watching from home, all those commenting, and even representatives of Lyon FC who were watching, and took note of Bugeja’s talent.
Bugeja is not the only Maltese female playing in Italy at the moment, with Nicole Sciberras at Juventus, Rachel Cuschieri and Emma Lipman at Lazio and Martina Borg at Sassari. Moreover, Ylenia Carabott plays with Sporting Charelroi in Belgium, and Maria Farrugia, Emma Ciantar Piccino are currently in the UK at Sunderland, and Alexandra Gatt joined Barking Abbey.
