Former La La Land and Easy A star is taking over the big screen once again as an iconic Disney villain – but she’s got to explain how she got there first… The new trailer for Cruella now gives a bigger sneak peek at the origin behind Cruella de Vil.
The trailer sees a young Cruella de Vil with red hair, laying out her ambitions as Nina Sinatra’s These Boots Are Made for Walking blasts in the background, ‘It’s a world of opportunity. And I was meant for more in this life. I want to make art, and I want to make trouble.’, she adds.
The aspiring fashion designer plucks inspiration from the punk rock revolution of the London streets and sets off to capture the attention of renowned fashion legend Baroness von Hellman, portrayed by Emma Thompson, ‘Whether you have the killer instinct is the big question’, she tells the young prodigy.
Cruella then meets two young thieves and the trio attempt to make their own way in the city as Cruella is recognized as the notorious queen of mean, ‘I am woman, hear me roar’, she says.
Cruella is set for debut in May.
