Charlie’s Angels star Drew Barrymore has admitted that she does not plan on returning to the big screen any time soon, which she shared on a radio show last Wednesday.
The mum of two explained, ‘If I’m being honest, the answer is no, I don’t want to be on a film set right now, but that could change when my kids are older. I stopped doing these when my kids were born, because I’ve done it since I was in diapers at 11 months old when I started’.
Barrymore added, ‘And it was a no brainer to me to put making movies on a back burner so that I could be present and raise my kids myself. I didn’t want to be on a film set asking the nanny how the kids were.’
She shared, ‘And you know, I’ve started brands. I was able to write a book.’ She also explained that she didn’t kiss acting goodbye right away after having kids, as she starred on Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet for three seasons.
Barrymore added and concluded, ‘And that show was the greatest thing that could have ever happened to me.’
Personally, I 100% support Drew’s empowering decision – but I’d be lying if I said I don’t look forward to seeing her on-screen one day…
