An investigation has been launched after bus caught fire at Cirkewwa.
Smoke was seen billowing from the vehicle as it sat outside the Gozo ferry terminal on Monday morning.
Footage showed a man using what appeared to be a fire extinguisher attempting to put out flames at the back of the vehicle as others looked on.
Police said no driver or passengers were on board at the time.
Malta Public Transport said that other buses were quickly moved away from the burning bus to make sure they were not damaged.
A spokeswoman told 89.7 Bay: ‘While no one was injured in this incident, thanks to the immediate action taken by the team on site and in our control room, our priority at the moment is to ensure the well-being and safety of our employees and passengers.’
The fire was quickly extinguished but 89.7 Bay listeners who witnessed the blaze said the bus was completely destroyed.
