Boris Johnson has dodged questions about a ‘staged’ photograph with his girlfriend as he took questions during a live radio phone-in.
An image of the former London mayor with Carrie Symonds appeared on the front pages of the British newspapers on Tuesday morning.
The couple first hit the headlines last week after neighbours called the police when they heard them having a screaming row.
LBC‘s Nick Ferrari suggested the picture was old – judging by his haircut – and asked again and again when the picture was taken.
But Boris refused to answer – a total of 26 times.
The Conservative leadership candidate said: ‘I am aware of all sorts of pictures of me out on the internet. And it is entirely up to newspapers to decide what they want to print.’
Boris is up against British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt in the race to replace Theresa May as Britain’s prime minister.
The winner will be announced on Tuesday 23 July.
