Veteran Broadcaster Joyce Guillaumier Passes Away Aged 75


Late last night, Veteran Radio Broadcaster and Former Teacher Joyce Guillaumier passed away at the age of 75.

Guillaumier had started her career on Radio Malta, when it first started in the early 70s.



For many years, Joyce hosted a number of programmes on various topics, including classical musical, and served also as an English Language Teacher at Adelaide Cini School in Hamrun.



Joyce Guillaumier was also decorated with the Midalja ghall-Qadi Tar-Repubblika, on Republic Day of 2015, by Former President H.E. Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca (pictured above). She was also the chairperson of the National Festivities Committee.

Joyce was married and was also a mother to two boys.

In a statement, Minister Carmelo Abela described Joyce Guillaumier as one of the first women who left their mark on national broadcasting.

RIP Joyce.
