Valletta Military Tattoo ends in an explosion of colour

 

This year’s Valletta Military Tattoo has been hailed as ‘one of the best yet’ on social media.

A veil of vibrant colour and light cascaded over The Palace on Sunday night as the three-day spectacular drew to a close.

Performers from Malta, Italy and Estonia came together to entertain audiences in Valletta’s iconic St George’s Square.

This year’s show celebrated visible light in all its forms with incredible architectural projections, cutting-edge lighting and special effects to accompany the music and performances.

The line-up included:

  • La Frustica Band
  • Sbandieratori e Musici Borgo San Lorenzo
  • Gymnastic Club Piruett featuring Dance Group Vikerkaar
  • The Band of the Armed Forces of Malta
  • The Band of the Malta Police Force
  • The Drill Team of the Malta Police Force
  • The Massed Pipes and Drums

The Valletta Military Tattoo – Malta is an annual event celebrating the island’s military heritage.

The music played this year featured a mix of classic band songs and traditional Scottish bagpipe tunes as well as popular hits made famous by Ed Sheeran and Adele for everyone to enjoy.

The tattoo won praise on social media.

One Facebook user wrote: ‘Fantastic. The setting was fabulous and the participants put their all into it and all their hard work paid off.’

Another added: ‘We found the show to be spectacular all round.’

A third posted: ‘Brilliant! A lovely end to our holiday.’
