ChatGPT has officially made it to the University of Malta seniors 👀

 

Academics at UM are holding ‘senior-level’ meetings about students using ChatGPT for their assignments or online exams

 

 

ChatGPT is an online AI-writing model that has grown in popularity amongst students to help them with writing their essays. All you need to do is ask the AI to provide text and research on any topic and it shall provide.

 

UM staff are holding these meetings because they are worried that students could be taking the easy route with this tool and using it to write whole assignments or big chunks of them.

 

 

The problem is that since the AI is very sophisticated it makes grading these assignments more difficult since plagiarism is less easy to be detected.
