Unemployment in Malta and Gozo has fallen to a new record low.
The latest jobless figures are more good news for the Maltese economy, which is officially the fastest-growing in europe.
In July, the number of people out of work and claiming benefit stood at 1,654 – a fall of nearly 10 per cent compared to the same month in 2018.
The National Statistics Office in Valletta said unemployment fell among all age groups, with the exception of those under 20 year.
The biggest decrease was recorded among those who had been registering for more than one year.
