Two people have been rushed to hospital after a serious road accident in Gozo.
The crash happened at around 3.45pm on Thursday on Mgarr Road in Ghajnsielem.
It’s the fourth major collision on the road in two weeks.
The accident involved four cars and a motorbike.
The motorcyclist, 59, from Xaghra, is said to be suffering from serious injuries.
Police said a woman driver, 46, from Gharb was also seriously hurt in the accident.
Ghajnsielem’s mayor Kevin Cauchi told 89.7 Bay News: ‘The situation on Mgarr Road is now completely unacceptable.
‘We want immediate solutions from Transport Mata, LESA, Police and the authorities.’
Earlier, Malta Police confirmed that a woman who was injured in a crash on Mgarr Road six days ago had died in hospital.
The 41-year-old from Swieqi was a passenger in a jeep which was involved in a collision with another car on Friday 16 August.
Eight other people, including three boys, were also injured in the accident and taken to Gozo General Hospital in Victoria.
