Tributes paid to scooter rider killed in Luqa crash

Emotional tributes have been paid to a ‘one in a million’ man killed in a horror road accident in Luqa.

Nolan Farrugia, 21, from Siggiewi died when his  scooter and a lorry collided on the main Qormi Road on Thursday morning.

Friends and relatives of took to social media to pay their respects.

One posted: ‘I cannot believe this, 2018 needs to hurry up and end, worst news a have had in a while, one of my best friends taken far too early. R.I.P Nolan. King, you were one in a million bro.’

Another said: ‘Can’t genuinely process it cause it doesn’t feel real.’

A third wrote on Facebook: ‘Taken too soon brother, rest in peace Nolan.’

The accident happened at around 10am near the entrance to Luqa Industrial Estate.

Police closed the main road between Luqa and Qormi for a time to investigate the crash.

A spokesman for Malta Police told 89.7 Bay: ‘Preliminary investigations showed that there was a collision between a Kymco Agility driven by a 21-year-old man from Siggiewi and a truck driven by a 56-year-old man from Ghaxaq.

‘An ambulance was called on site to assist the motorcyclist but unfortunately he was certified dead on the spot.’
