Tributes paid to Gozo biker killed in horror crash

Tributes have been paid to a young dad killed in a motorcycle crash in Birkirkara on Saturday.

Mark Bishop has been named as the man who passed away after the horror accident at around 4am.

Police say the 41-year-old from Gozo was travelling along Valley Road when his motorcycle lost control and struck a parked lorry, causing him to come off.

Emergency services attended the scene but he died from his injuries before he could be taken to hospital.

Dozens of devastated friends have been posting tributes on Facebook.

One wrote: ‘Heartbreaking can’t believe it. RIP Mark you really were one of the good ones, you were such a good soul with a big heart.’

Valley Road was closed for a time while police dealt with the incident.

Mr Bishop, from Sannat, worked as a software engineer in the gaming industry and was a father of two children.
