As from Friday, training for individual non-contact sports can resume, as well as competitions. Indoor Sports can also resume, with the 75-person maximum capacity, which includes athletes, staff and sport officials.
As to what regards contact sports, training can resume on the 1st July 2020, with official competitions starting on the 15th July. This also includes the Waterpolo Summer Season 2020 and the Horse-Racing Summer Competition.
Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Sports and Voluntary Organisations, Clifton Grima said that these decisions were reached following discussions between the Health Authorities, SportMalta, Various Clubs and The Malta Olympic Committee.
SportMalta will also open applications for this Summer’s “Summer on the Move”. Mark Cutajar from SportMalta said that applications will open on Monday.
