Can you believe it? 20 years ago, today, was the day that Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone first hit Cinemas!
If you’re a fellow potterhead, then you’d know that Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – also known as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone – is the first novel and movie that kick-started the widely popular (and beloved) series by J.K. Rowling.
And whilst Harry Potter was meant to have green eyes, and Hermione was also supposed to have large front teeth – as they did in the book – the Harry Potter series has evidently become and still is, a roaring success. In fact, even Eden Cinemas held a marathon of the entire series late last year!
Who could’ve guessed that a book that was rejected by publishers 12 times would end up becoming such a huge success, both as a novel and film series?
Thank you for all of the magical adventures, Harry!
