Gozo’s biggest Christmas tree has been plunged into darkness after being attacked by vandals.
Dozens of lights were stolen from the festive attraction, which was only unveiled on Sunday night on the outskirts of Santa Lucija.
The display featured 4,000 lights, forming a 180-metre tall Christmas tree, set on the hillside at Għar Ilma.
Kercem Local Council described the theft as ‘shameful’ and ‘an act of vandalism’.
The tree was switched on four days ago by Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana.
Police are investigating the matter.
