The Malta International Airshow has been cancelled for the second year in a row.
The disappointing news was confirmed by the Malta Aviation Society in a terse statement on its website on Monday night.
It gave no reasons for the decision.
The statement read: ‘The Malta Aviation Society announces that the Malta International Airshow 2019 will not be held.’
The last airshow took place at Malta Airport back in 2017.
The show had become one of Malta’s most popular outdoor events over the years and featured some of the world’s top aerobatic teams, including the Red Arrows, Italy’s Frecce Tricolori and the Saudi Hawks.
