The Weeknd’s hit track, Blinding Lights, has become the first song to ever spend a full year in the Billboard Top 100, spending a total of 43 weeks in the Top 5 specifically.

The accomplishment surpasses Post Malone’s record, who held his song ‘Circles’ in the Top 10 for 39 weeks. Yet despite The Weeknd’s roaring success, he was not nominated for any Grammys this year.
The Weeknd even addressed this issue after the release of his latest studio album, After Hours, last March, calling it ‘an attack’. He also added that on looking back on his past Grammys in 2017 and 2015, he declared that they ‘mean nothing to me’.
This track dropped in 2019. In 2021, it’s still one of the biggest songs in the country.

He continued ‘I have three Grammys, which mean nothing to me now, obviously. It’s not like, ‘Oh, I want the Grammy!’ It’s just that this happened, and I’m down to get in front of the fire, as long as it never happens again.’
Nevertheless, The Weeknd pulled off another win when he headlined and crushed the 2021 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Congratulations The Weeknd!
