Viewers of TVM’s 8pm news were left feeling emotional as anchor Keith Demicoli told the story of 72-year old Zaren Borg, who was discharged from Mater Dei Hospital after spending more than six weeks in hospital due to COVID-19, including 21 days on a ventilator at the Intensive Care Unit.
“He is a living miracle and the face of COVID Survivors”
Speaking to us this morning, Keith told us that “it is truly impressive how someone who was in such a critical state” – having even spent a considerable amount of days unconscious – “has now overcome this, and is back at home with his loved ones.”
We couldn’t agree more with this statement, as the story was truly touching, as was his son’s short interview afterwards, during which he said that this was the first-time ever that his father was admitted to a hospital.

Grateful for all the healthcare workers
In an Instagram Post, Keith spoke about how Zaren is grateful for all the healthcare workers who worked so hard to give him a second chance. In the meantime, our advise to you all is once again simple, stay safe, and follow all the instructions being given to us by the health authorities. Together we will get through this.
