A football player has been admitted to hospital after he collapsed on the pitch during a football match at Ta’Qali.
Mun Law received immediate treatment from the Malta FA paramedic on duty at the Centenary Stadium who used a defibrillator to treat the Yau Mun Law who is the captain of Santa Venera Lightnings.
The Malta Football Association said the match against Kirkop United was abandoned after the 44 minute on Thursday.
Santa Venera thanked nurse Charlot Lanzon and photographer Walter Sargent for assisting their team captain.
In a statement, the club: ‘During the third division match between Sta Venera Lightnings and Kirkop United our captain Yau Mun-Law fell ill and lost consciousness.
‘Yau-Mun Law was given first assistance and was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.
‘His condition is stable, even though he is still receiving intensive treatment.
‘Sta Venera Lightnings is appealing to everyone to stay united and pray for our player.’
