Following the spontaneous celebration by Hamrun supporters, on the day that the new measures were announced, South End Core has stated that the celebration should not have taken place due to the restrictions of the health authorities and that they do not condemn this behaviour in any way.

Alongside this statement, South End Core also suggested that if stadiums were opened last November in a reduced way, abiding by the protocol, maybe there would have been less of a thirst to celebrate a win achieved by the team, and maybe such uncontrollable madness on the streets would have been avoided.
They also reassured people that, with the approaching local leagues, spontaneous celebrations like these if not larger will emerge if the doors remain closed.
South End Core then proposed that the international match of Malta against Russia on March 24th act as a trial run for this, with 400 supporters being admitting to a 2,000-strong side. After two weeks, it would be identified whether or not there have been any cases taken between fans in the stadiums.
If no cases emerge, then this can be implemented for the matchdays taking place between the 9th and 11th of April.
