Some of the sickest Maltese tats of 2019

When it comes to local tattoo-talent, the Maltese artists surely got it going on.

From intricate realism, to iconic traditional tattoos, cool tribal work, vibrant neo-traditional pieces and much more… you can find so many different styles expressed right here on this little island.

Here are some of our favourite pieces from this year that might just give you some inspiration for your next (or first) tattoo…

Have you ever seen ink this vibrant? This insanely beautiful neo-traditional piece was done by @driaandria, inked onto one hell of a brave soul’s neck (seriously tho, this one must have hurt).

This adorable sun and moon artwork was actually HAND-POKED (that’s right) by @poked.by.monique… and won’t you just take a minute to admire that intricate dotwork?!

@zoyawilsontattoo shed some light on the old Maltese tradition and symbol of the Luzzu eye in this subtle, yet colourful tattoo.

Not only is the placing of this next tattoo extremely unique, but the black dotwork design is just adorable.

What’s cuter than a tiny penguin riding a skateboard?

This next tattoo is bound to at least put a smile on your face, and this sweet artwork belongs to @vellaalexia

And last but not least, this awesomely vivid and traditional mandala tattoo was also done by @mr.lo_ng
