The singer took to Instagram on Wednesday to share her bizarre story, remarking that the animals attacked her, before seizing her bag and retreating with it into the woods.
Showing the torn bag to the camera, Shakira said: ‘Look at how two wild boar which attacked me in the park have left my bag. They were taking my bag to the woods with my mobile phone in it. They’ve destroyed everything.’ She then turned towards her young son, saying: ‘Milan tell the truth. Say how your mummy stood up to the wild boar.’
This comes as the aggressive hogs invaded the Catalan capital in recent years. Back in 2016, Spanish police received over 1,000 calls about wild hogs attacking dogs, pillaging cat-feeders, holding up traffic, and even running into cars.
Boars are known to carry several diseases and are listed as one of the world’s most invasive species. They are increasingly drawn to cities, where they live off rubbish discarded by humans. Their numbers have exploded across Europe, surpassing 10 million across the continent.
