In a show of unity, this morning, Malta’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Chris Fearne and the Opposition Health Spokesperson, received the COVID-19 vaccine.
In short comments after the vaccines were administered, Chris Fearne said that from tomorrow “we will start administering the vaccine to the staff and the pharmacies in all the community pharmacies around Malta and Gozo, and, as of this week, people aged 80 and over will start receiving their Vaccination Appointment Letter.”
“My appeal to all those who receive the vaccination appointment letter is to trust science over superstition, while still adhering to all the measures which are currently in place,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
Stephen Spiteri reiterated what the Deputy Prime Minister said, adding that to overcome the pandemic, “you need two things, namely, a strong vaccination programme, as well as everyone’s will to actually receive the vaccine.”
“We believe in this vaccine, and this is why both the Deputy Prime Minister and myself have both taken the vaccine together,” Stephen Spiteri said.
