The fifth season of Riverdale might have just started, but it has officially been confirmed that there is more to come, as the show has been renewed by The CW for a sixth season!
Currently, new episodes for the fifth season are available on Netflix, and viewers are already hooked – but like many shows, production was delayed due to the ongoing pandemic, and the first three episodes of Season 5 were actually meant to be aired as part of Season 4.
The last episode, Chapter Eighty: Purgatorio, is the first episode set after a seven-year time jump where Archie, Jughead, Betty, Veronica, and the gang have graduated and left Riverdale.
The rest of Season 5 follows the group after they return and fight to keep the School’s doors open after a series of budget cuts threaten its existence. However, we do know that Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Jughead somehow become Riverdale High’s newest teachers!
So…what happens in Season 6 will only pan on from here, and Season 5 still has about a dozen more episodes to air before wrapping up. Plus, due to the pandemic, there’s no telling when Season 6 will premiere – but we’re definitely excited!
