Recird numbers of us visited Gozo in December, according to new figures.
The Ministry for Gozo said more than half a million passengers crossed the channel, boosting tourism on the sister island.
The figures showed that 520,439 people and 165,580 cars, vans and lorries used the Gozo ferry last month – an increase of 18,532 people and 9,337 vehicles when compared to December 2018.
Boxing Day was the busiest day, with 25,193 passengers and 6,390 vehicles making the crossing on 100 Gozo Channel ferry trips.
Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana welcomed the figures, saying that these increased numbers were ‘good news’ for tourism.
Gozo Tourism Association chief executive Joe Muscat said hotels and restaurants reported good business during the Christmas period.
