Prime Ministers of Malta and Australia hold talks

Malta’s prime minister has held talks with his Australian counterpart in Canberra.

Joseph Muscat and Malcolm Turnbull discussed the Commonwealth, Brexit and Malta’s close ties with Australia.

Mr Turnbull said Maltese-Australians played a huge contribution to Australian society.

He also thanked Dr Muscat for supporting a possible trade deal between the EU and Australia.

Earlier, the Prime Minister visited the Maltese community in Brisbane and urged them to be proud of their heritage.
