With the week of Easter creeping in, Prime Minister Robert Abela has asked the public ‘for another effect of solidarity and responsibility as he announces some new measures, effective as of Wednesday 31 March.
Fil-ġimgħa tal-Għid il-Kbir u l-jiem ta’ wara, qed nitlobkom sforz ieħor ta’ solidarjetà u responsabilità.
From next Wednesday, only two people are allowed to gather in public spaces, as long as they do not live in the same residence. Fines will also be increasing for any violations of this new rule.
From tomorrow, new measures will also be enforced in airports and ports for those who will be coming from any foreign countries within the green zone. They will be asked to bring a negative test result with them, or it will be done locally here.

Nevertheless, Abela assured the public that the sacrifices being made thus far, as well as the ongoing vaccination program, has been bearing more fruit than predicted and that all of these measures are aimed at the continuous attack against the vaccine.
These new measures will persist until the 11th of April and according to the health authorities, are absolutely necessary to keep us on track.
