The President of Malta has praised 89.7 Bay‘s ‘massive’ efforts to help Maltese charities.
On Saturday, 89.7 Bay broadcast live from City Gate in Valletta, where a huge L-istrina logo was gradually covered with Euro coins by 89.7 Bay listeners and passersby.
All proceeds from the ‘Cent Stunt’ – which runs all weekend – will go towards The Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.

As well as the President of Malta as a special guest, Emma Muscat also popped in during the live outside broadcast.
The Maltese singer, who shot to fame on the Italian talent show Amici, joined Pierre Cordina on Bay’s Saturday afternoon show.
The fundraising event was also hosted by Bay Breakfast duo Daniel and Ylenia, Saturday morning duo Owen and Taryn, as well as Drew, Jake and Kurt with producer Rachel keeping everyone in order.
89.7 Bay station manager Andrew Zammit said: ‘We are thrilled to help Her Excellency The President raise funds for such a good cause.’
‘We’ve been running live shows from Republic Street in Valletta all day to encourage the public to join us and donate to the Malta Community Chest Fund.
‘L-istrina is all about raising money and awareness for the fantastic charities in Malta who help change the lives of those who really do need it the most.
‘I’d like to thank 89.7 Bay listeners for all the money they have raised to help disadvantaged children, young people and others across the Maltese Islands.’
