Premier League Returns Tonight As The League Aims To Be “On The Right Side Of History”


As if the COVID-19 Pandemic was not enough, the world is now witnessing an ever-growing “Black Lives Matter” movement. In light of this Premier League have taken a decision which involves the players’ shirts.

In fact, Premier League players’ names will be replaced on the back of their shirts with ‘Black Lives Matter’ for the first 12 matches of the restarted season. Moreover, it is being reported that The Premier League will also support any player who chooses to ‘take a knee’ before or during matches.


A BLM logo will feature on jerseys for the remainder of the campaign alongside a badge paying tribute to the NHS.



In a joint message from all 20 clubs, players added that they were committed to “a global society of inclusion, respect, and equal opportunities for all, regardless of their colour or creed”.
