Joint and Coordinated Efforts by the Zejtun District Police and the Criminal Investigations Department within the Malta Police Force have led to an arrest of a 45-year old man, from Birkirkara. The man was found at a location where he was allegedly hiding.
The man was wanted in relation to a number of thefts from Petrol Stations, thefts from cars, and other thefts, including a hold-up from a shop in Cospicua which took place on the 16th March 2020.
The man was arrested at around 11:00am yesterday, when Police surrounded a residence in Zurrieq after information was received that a man which was being searched for, for the past six weeks, might have been in hiding there.
Whilst this information was then proved to be true, the man tried to escape by jumping over the rooftops of the neighbouring houses, where the Police followed him, and subsequently arrested him.
The man will be taken to court this morning.
