Last Thursday, Disney dubbed its ‘Investor Day’, in which the entertainment launched the news of several projects for the next two years. This includes a Toy Story Prequel series starring Chris Evans, where Lightyear will tell Buzz’s origin story.

This week has clearly been a huge one for movie fans, with 10 new Star War Series, some exciting partnerships with Emeryville’s Pixar, and 10 Marvel series being announced.
Lightyear tells the origin story of the beloved astronaut from the Toy Story franchise. Though originally voiced by Tim Allen, the role will now be reprised by Chris Evans and the film is set to debut in the summer of 2022.

For the first time ever, Pixar has also decided to enter the realm of television with several series, such as Win or Lose, which tells the story of a middle-school football team; a road trip show starring two characters from the Cars franchise.

A dog-centred spin-off of the heart-warming movie Up called Dug Days is also set to premiere, alongside a collection of mini-shorts called Pixar Popcorn and a five-part documentary titled, Inside Pixar.
Turning Red is another new feature in store for 2021 and will be the director of the Academy Award-winning short movie Bao and Luca about a boy and his best friend.

It looks like 2021 appears quite promising, but we don’t have to wait too long for something new from Pixar – as Soul will be premiering on Christmas Day, alongside Burrow, on Disney+.
