PETA Defends Kylie Jenner’s Lion Head Dress Amid Criticism

PETA defends Kylie Jenner’s lion head dress amid criticism

Shalom Harlow and Naomi Campbell, respectively, wore ensembles featuring realistic leopard and wolf heads from the couture collection aswell.

Although Jenner made sure to note that the lion head was fake in her instagram post, commenters were still quick to criticize

The dress was a part of Schiaparelli collection’s “three-dimensional animal heads,” for Paris Fashion Week.

The animal heads are hand-sculpted from foam, wool , silk and faux fur, then hand-painted to give them a lifelike appearance.

Even PETA which has long advocated against the use of genuine fur and leather in the fashion business was a supporter.

The president of the animal-rights group, Ingrid Newkirk argues that, Jenner’s appearance may be a protest against trophy hunting and promotes the beauty of lions.

Schiaparelli defended its designs in two Instagram postings on the fashion house’s account in the midst of the controversy.
