Penguins Take Thousands Of Short Naps A Day To Stay Alert & Survive

Penguins have mastered the art of power napping, napping for just a few seconds at a time—thousands of times a day, according to a recent study🐧💤

While animals display a range of sleep behaviors, penguins stand out for their interesting sleep schedule. Neuroscientist Paul-Antoine Libourel, one of the researchers, emphasized how this discovery underscores how much we still have to learn about sleep in different species.

The research highlights the vast differences in sleep patterns across the animal kingdom. For example, bats can sleep up to 20 hours daily, giraffes make do with less than two, and seals can rest half of their brain while swimming.
