Police have launched an investigation after a long streak of white paint was splashed over one of Valletta’s historic bastions.
The stain, which begins near the top of the bastion and trails all the way down to the ground, was discovered between the Siege Bell Monument and Fort St Elmo on Mediterranean Street.
The city’s mayor Alfred Zammit condemned the vandals responsible for the mess and urged members of the public to come forward with any information.
Valletta councillor Mark Spiteri Lucas added: ‘This is shameful.
‘We need to take action against those who don’t care about the heritage that our capital city has to offer.’
