One of Malta’s busiest roads will be closed on Saturday

One of Malta’s busiest roads will be closed for seven hours this weekend.

The northbound side of Sir Paul Boffa Avenue will be shut on Saturday from 11 am to 6pm.

Infrastructure Malta said the closure was for health and safety reasons while work continues on the Marsa flyovers project.

It said: ‘Sir Paul Boffa Avenue’s northbound carriageway from Paola to Marsa will be closed as we lift and set in place the longest concrete beams of the Marsa Junction Project flyovers.

‘These beams will cross over some of the junction’s existing lanes, which will be closed to ensure road users’ and workers’ safety.’

Drivers are urged to follow diversion signs from Corradino roundabout to Albert Town.

Sir Paul Boffa Avenue will remain open to buses only.
