One of Malta’s most popular bathing spots has been closed to the public.
Tourism bosses told 89.7 Bay that Balluta Bay in St Julian’s will be out of bounds ‘for a number of days’.
The Malta Tourism Authority said the small beach – which usually attracts hundreds of swimmers every day during the summer months – has been closed while sand replenishment work is carried out.
Similar ‘beach nourishment’ projects have already proved to be successful at St George’s Bay and in Bugibba.
