Simon De Cesare has been named as the new president of the Malta Business Bureau.
He replaces David Zahra, who has been appointed vice-president of the organisation.
Mr De Cesare said the year ahead would be an important one for Malta.
He told 89.7 Bay: ‘We have a strong political year ahead of us, with the Juncker Commission mandate coming to an end, the UK leaving the EU in March 2019, and the European Parliament elections in May 2019, to name but a few.
‘With all that is going, I can assure the MBB’s commitment to continue being of service to the Maltese business community.’
Mr De Cesare earned an MBA in strategy development and marketing from Claremont Graduate University, Peter Drucker School of Management, Los Angeles.
He joined the Eden Leisure Group as a Business Administration Manager in 2000.
After assuming several roles throughout the organisation, in 2018, he became chief executive officer of the Eden Leisure Group.
The Malta Business Bureau is the EU-business advisory office for the Malta Chamber of Commerce and the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association.
