Netflix Is Making A Live-Action Remake Of ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’

Remember the greatest animated series of all time? Aka Avatar: The Last Airbender? Well, if you’ve watched it and loved it then you’re in luck because Netflix is making a live-action remake of the series!

Netflix reveals cast for its live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series - The Verge

Surprisingly, this was announced back in 2018, when Netflix said that it will be retelling the story of Gaang with real people and fans basically went crazy. You don’t blame them, though, since M. Night Shyamalan directed an incredibly horrendous live-action film adaptation of the first season back in 2010.

But back to the reboot – no release date has come out yet, and the show has suffered delays in production due to the ongoing pandemic, so we’ll likely have to wait for a while. At least that gives them more time to perfect it!

And yes, we can expect to see all the major players—Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, Zuko, Iroh, Azula, Firelord Ozai, etc.—. We’re just hoping Cabbage Man makes the cut.

The show can also be expected to follow the format of the original series, which was separated into 3 seasons of 20 episodes each.

So, who can you expect to see in the cast? The first four members of the cast were officially announced in August: Gordon Cormier will be playing Aang; Kiawentiio is playing Katara; Ian as Sokka, and Dallas Liu as Prince Zuko.

Composer Jeremy Zuckerman will return to compose the music, whilst Jan Chol Lee will act as a concept designer. Dan Lin (The Lego Movie, It, Sherlock Holmes) will be executive producing.
