Nearly a Year After the first Registered Case, Malta now Has 3,000 Active COVID-19 Cases

 

After 3,654 swab tests which were carried out in the past 24 hours, 233 new COVID-19 cases were registered while 162 people recovered overnight. This brings Malta’s Active COVID-19 cases to 3,000. Also during the past 24 hours, 2 patients died while COVID-19 positive – an 84-year old male, who died at Mater Dei Hospital and an 86-year old woman died at Gozo General Hospital, bringing Malta’s COVID-19 death toll to 321.

As to what regards the National Vaccination Programme, till yesterday 84,129 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered, of which, 29,748 were second doses.

So far, Malta has registered a total of 23,226 COVID-19 cases, with 19,905 people having recovered so far.
