Motorcyclist seriously injured in Sliema crash

Malta Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward following a serious road accident in Sliema.

A motorcyclist was badly injured in the crash on Tower Road on Sunday night.

Police said the man’s bike was in collision with a Ford Transit at around 10.15pm.

A police spokesman told 89.7 Bay: ‘From preliminary investigations, the police found that a collision occurred between a Ford Transit, being driven by a 57-year-old Italian residing in Marsascala, and a motorcyclebeing driven by a 25-year-old from Swieqi.

‘The driver of the motorcycle was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance for further medical treatment.

‘He was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.’

A police investigation has been launched.
