There’s more good news for the Maltese economy.
Malta received a record number of visitors in August, according to the latest figures.
A number of new flight routes to Malta helped to boost overseas arrivals.
The number of tourists visiting the Maltese Islands increased by 6.7 per cent, taking the tally to 338,758 visitors.
Spending rose by almost 3 per cent to an estimated €329.6 million, according to the Office for National Statistics in Valletta.
It said more than 40 per cent of holidaymakers coming to Malta were aged between 25 and 44.
A third of tourists were aged under 24.
