Miley Cyrus has released a new song hinting at a marriage break-up just days after her split from husband Liam Hemsworth.
The lyrics of the song, called Slide Away, encourage a person to ‘move on’ and ‘let it go’.
The singer, 26, opens with the verse: ‘Once upon a time it was paradise, once upon a time I was paralysed, I think I’m gonna miss these harbour lights, but it’s time to let it go.’
Later on she sings: ‘Move on, we’re not 17, I’m not who I used to be, you say that everything changed, you’re right, we’re grown now.’
Miley launched the track less than a week after she and Hemsworth, 29, confirmed they had separated after a year of marriage.
The pair met during the filming of romantic drama movie The Last Song 10 years ago.
They married last December after nearly a decade of on-again-off-again dating.
Representatives for both confirmed the end of their marriage with Hemsworth wishing Miley ‘health and happiness’ in a post on Instagram.
