Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Have Welcomed Their Second Child

On June 4th, Meghan Markle gave birth to her second child with Prince Harry. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed Archie’s baby sister, Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, named after the Queen and Princess Diana.

The couple’s press secretary shared a statement: ‘It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter, Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world. Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home.’

Born at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California, Lilibet weighed seven pounds and 11 ounces. According to the statement, Meghan and Harry’s daughter is named after Queen Elizabeth, ‘whose family nickname is Lilibet.’ Her middle name also bids honour to Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana.

Prince William and Kate Middleton congratulated the couple on June 6, sharing that they are ‘delighted by the happy news of the arrival of baby Lili.’ Harry’s father, Prince Charles, also issued a statement: ‘Wishing them all well at this special time.’

This is their first big news since sharing untold stories behind the palace’s walls with Oprah Winfrey last March.
