The couple’s press secretary shared a statement: ‘It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter, Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world. Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home.’
Born at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California, Lilibet weighed seven pounds and 11 ounces. According to the statement, Meghan and Harry’s daughter is named after Queen Elizabeth, ‘whose family nickname is Lilibet.’ Her middle name also bids honour to Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana.
