MATSEC Issues Clarification About Changes in Syllabi

The MATSEC Board within the University of Malta has issued a clarification about the previously-announced changes in the SEC, Intermediate and Advanced Level Syllabi.

In the clarification statement, MATSEC said that the revisions to the current MATSEC syllabi were made by 396 educators nominated by all three sectors: State, Church and Independent, who are mostly practising teachers.

MATSEC further said that these revisions are part of the overall mitigation measures MATSEC is taking to address the disruption in teaching time as a result of COVID-19. On concluding, MATSEC said that it is working closely with the Ministry for Education and Employment, and will revise the syllabi again if the current learning conditions change while preserving the quality and standard of the qualifications.
