Masks “Very Likely” To Be Removed From Schools After Easter

Health Minister Chris Fearne said that masks are “very likely” not to be mandatory in schools when students go back to classes after the Easter holidays. 😷

Fearne stated this during an inauguration ceremony of a memorial garden for COVID-19 victims in the past 2 years of the pandemic.

He based his statement on current data of the COVID-19 situation in Malta. However, he continued that the ongoing situation needs to be properly analysed over the holidays to ease any restrictions.

Today we also saw a slight surge in cases. Saħħa reported 229 new cases, the highest number of new active cases in the past 6 weeks.

What do you think about the current pandemic situation on the islands? Do you think authorities should fully remove mask-related restrictions from schools?
